What is a good clicking speed?

If you're an avid fan of playing computer games or typing on the keyboard, then clicking speed is one of the most important abilities to master. Knowing how to click quickly and accurately can contribute to your gaming skills or help you maximize your work efficiency. So what is considered a good clicking speed?

The average person clicks between one and three times per second. While this may seem fast enough for many activities, experienced gamers know that it pays to increase this rate by a factor of two or more. Professionals have wide-ranging clicking speeds but most range from three clicks per second for basic gaming activities up to six clicks per second for more demanding and intensive ones like Counter-Strike or Warcraft 3. The pro scene for many games requires very high rates of mouse clicking, with some players even reaching 10 clicks per second!

So if you're aiming higher than the average, what should be your goal? For beginners, a good goal is shooting for five clicks per second as that would put you in the upper half of esports players. As your skills improve, increasing your click speed up to seven clicks per second will bring even better results in any activity that demands a rapid response time. With practice and dedication, many gamers are able to reach this speed while still maintaining accuracy.
